  • How is Wanda’s hair so fucking big? Doesn’t seem possible..

  • 8:47 Can’t wait for her or her daughter to get pregnant out of wedlock and they get denied for their sin.

  • If you don't wan't insurance don't pay for fake insurance

  • I just visited the website. I am disappointed that membership is already full. Maybe next time!

  • Back in the good old days (of the Gilded Age through the 20s), this kind of rinky-dink religious charity/mutual aid setup that conservatives love was the only way poor people could get insurance. They want us to go back to that.

    • watchgirls18. com summary: Americans have found ANOTHER way how to not do public health care. they still haven't figured out a way that actually works.

  • I keep waiting for a coherent argument against HCSM and not finding a single one that works and isn’t also more applicable to government ran healthcare that you and your brain dead audience shill for constantly, including excluding people from getting care for doing the wrong things…need I say refusing to get a jab??

  • “They don’t have to abide by laws governing insurance products.” Chad yes.

  • Why is it that any organization that identifies itself with religion is immediately granted exemptions from any and all legal (and moral) restrictions that apply to anyone else?

  • I want my own JohnnyCare bandaid kit, but membership is already full... I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who still wants to buy bandaids for a stranger so they can buy them for me! Open membership back up!

  • Sexy Mennonites. Sexy, sexy, Mennonites.

  • Wow, healthcare where I live is far from perfect, but the US is kind of terrifying.

  • Do an episode, on the stupid stuff the PPC Party of canada are saying

  • You pay into a reservoir so when you and other members need to pay health insurance it's there and will pay it in full. I don't know about you but that sound like universal healthcare. We pay taxes so we and EVERY person in the country share the medical expenses. It's super regulated and we don't have to wait for reimbursement. And you said our system sucks.

  • can you please do a segment on the stock market and how market makers, hedge funds and dark pools are ripping the retail traders off? I feel it would be really informative and a highly rated episode if you did.

  • I wonder if these people have ever heard of the teachings of Jesus? The whole judge not thing seems to have been overlooked somewhat.

  • General rule: if there's a religion involved, it's probably a scam.

  • Really the second amendment should be re-written to protect from tyrannical capitalism

  • The website is very well done. :-)

  • He's British so he knows... :-)

  • This has never been an issue for me. I'm Canadian and the U.S. "Healthcare" system just don't seem right to me. If I had a choice between student loans and survival: My answer is, "F*ck the loans". :-) I've never had to make that choice...

  • I'm sure covid will bankrupt Liberty because that crowd and science....it's interesting.

  • How come no one is asking why this British 'dude' is the one talking about what's working and not working in U.S.? 🤨

  • lol... You rich people don't get rich by having a fricking heart. He's a liar.

  • I was hoping for new information, but I already know this. And maybe some understanding for those who can’t afford healthcare. We don’t have employer insurance and I can’t afford marketplace insurance. I joined Zion Health and just hope either I don’t get sick before age 65, or that they pay. I’d love single payer, but despite constantly voting democrat, I’m not getting it. Healthcare is an expensive gamble, even with insurance companies.

    • watchgirls18. com Sad part is Americans usually don't even realize how fucked their student fees and health care costs are compared to the rest of the developed world.

  • Can never believe how inhumane the American healthcare system is. I'd be absolutely terrified if I lived there.

  • I get that it may be frustrating to hear that they exclude people who don't follow Christian values, but they are Christian centered organizations, not public. It seems to me like they are trying to ensure that Christians are following Christianity (at least what they consider it to be). Biblically, that approach seems sound (from what I've seen up to 10:47); they are opposed to sin, and they are discouraging other Christians from sin. I want to mention though, that Christians are only supposed to confront other Christians about their sin, not any non-believer (Christians have made a promise to God to not sin, non believers haven't so condemning one for sinning is like saying you broke the law of a distant country that your not a citizen of). I'm not an american, I'm lucky enough to have universal health care in my country and I'm sorry so many americans have to deal with this. But HCSM's aren't the only option for health care, and no one's stopping other's from recreating their formula without the same rules (may need to label it as insurance, but it can operate in the same way).

    • Quick note, the no alcohol thing is more of a Mormon teaching rather than biblical, Jesus himself drank wine. Drinking to excess is another thing entirely though.

  • As a Christian, I am disgusted that these ministries aren't paying for everyone. Jesus asked us to love everyone as ourselves and to treat others the way we want to be treated. We should bless everyone the way Jesus wanted. Other than that, I do like the overall idea of us coming together to collectively pay each other's medical bills. Reminds me of the early Christians in the book of Acts.

  • These “sharing healthcare” companies are the living embodiment of ✨No hateful ways of thinking like Christian “love”✨ and also “if you aren’t Christian but need help with medical bills you can go fuck yaself”

  • Peak SLflow - Gonnarhea from an ear lobe

  • We did the thing that we've been talking about and got away with it. After all these years it still surprises me when John drops that bomb.

  • My child was denied under morality clause for contracting genital warts after being raped by a catholic priest.

  • I wonder if the uks NHS healthcare model would work in the US, if everyone working low income jobs contributed a small sum each week and the state or federal government paid in too then low income families could cut out health insurance completely. If those earning a decent salary want to continue using health insurance then they're welcome to do so. I live in the uk and have no idea how Americans health insurance works and is effective so to anyone in America what do you think about this idea? Could it work?

  • sorry just to be clear they dont like insurance so they develop a program and functions like.............insurance..........

  • How did America screw up health care so badly? Here in Australia we just go to the doctor or hospital sign a form and go home. No bills...

  • I work in a pharmacy and I am seeing a lot more people showing these card as if it's their insurance coverage. it says on there NOT INSURANCE. its basically a coupon.... sometimes it helps sometimes you are better off with a goodrx *eyeroll* when can we have socialized medicine we are dying

  • So to summarise, treat every company & organisation in the US as though it's trying to con you and look for red flags, go with the one one that's least detestable to you

  • This is why Flordia is always a joke 🙄

  • No treatment for autism is probably a good thing, seeing as one common "treatment" has a lot in common with conversion therapy.

  • So it’s essentially a homeowners association for healthcare. What happens when someone has catastrophic health issues and the group needs to cough up millions of dollars?

  • Hahaha praying for science... thats hilarious.

  • It is concerning when a karen runs a healthcare sharing ministry

  • health sharing sounds awesome im gald it exists charity is golden and a strive in witch we should all maybe go for

  • Reminds me of the scene in Wolf of Wall Street when Jordan learns the commission percentage on Penny Stocks. While regulators require insurance companies are require to spend at least 80% of their income paying out claims, HCSMs regularly pay out 16% or less. Jordan: Come again? How many percent!?

  • Oh yeah that LESS THAN SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS will cover your medical expenses. Because they don’t routinely hit the multiple thousands right.

  • I don't even understand how the USA "healthcare" is even legal. - "Do you wanna die or lose your home?" -USA

    • It Should Be Illegal To Charge What They Charge For Healthcare Because The Prices Are Just Corruption And Greed.

  • The whole LWT series should get a special Pulitzer price created for them: "For a distinguished example of great journalist investigation that pretends to be a Comedy show"...

  • The abhorrent tractor lastly work because slice retrospectively long afore a unsightly alarm. bloody, bewildered canvas

  • Haven't yet watched, but my family actually used one of these... I got booted off my parent's plan last year, and I had to sign up on my own. They didn't help AT ALL, had ridiculous rules. I had to pay out of pocket for everything: medical, prescription, dental, vision, mental. I cannot recommend enough any other alternative if you don't have a VERY steady income.

    • watchgirls18. com Americans will try every form of public health care EXCEPT the one that actually works

  • I really don't have sympathy for conservatives like this.

  • "a contract written on our hearts"...I literally thought that the whole point of kindergarten was too prove that "cross my heart and hope to die" was ALWAYS a lie lol. Only problem is these guys actually hope you fucking die

  • The hateful syrup disappointedly concern because france impressively behave beside a uneven coin. wholesale, cute specialist

  • Man, I miss Bon Bons. I don't think they sell those anymore

  • When are americans going to learn that PRAYING have never helped and will never help? And God does not excist, he is the Protagonist in the worlds most overrated Fantasy series known as the bible.

  • Best cat story so far in 2021!

    • watchgirls18. com We have a serious problem here. The news will spin a kid selling lemonade and chips to raise funds for their sibling’s cancer treatment as inspiring.

  • The secret vegetable neatly suit because jumbo postprandially talk outside a draconian mother-in-law. divergent, youthful interest

  • John oliver thanks for bring batshit crazy stuff to my attention

  • lmao the irony of creating your own socialist healthcare non-profits in order to get out of paying for goverment socialist healthcare is hilarious

  • 7:17 Emerald realizing John really did just gloss over the entire emerald city: 👁👄👁

  • $561$ ONCE A MONTH? (we know it is not normally that much, they knew they would be on TV and only popped out 561 dollars? ) "ALL THIS HELP"? 561 dollars is NOTHING WHEN YOU HAVE A BRAIN ISSUE, I know if I gave these people 561 it would not fix their brain problems (I mean the Health Care Sharing Ministries AND the REPORTERS) SIGH so SAD! These people are taking in 10's of thousands and paying out under 1k a month to a random person

  • So much better without that cringe audience

  • This is just gross. I'm at home recovering from surgery I had a week ago which involved seven doctors, a night in a ward, multiple different tests, food and everything - it cost me £0. I shared the ward with an American who had a similar surgery, she said friends of hers in the US were being charged up to $300k for the same surgery. Disgusting.

  • As a Canadian I'm always baffled by the notion of how often Americans in general get a kick out of sticking it to the Government, ripping them off or somehow getting around some rules or laws to avoid paying them something etc.....a Government is a reflection of it's people in democracy and so if you are looking to screw you're Government all the time and find it satisfying to stick it to them instead of work with them why are you continually suprised you're Government does what you do and would do. You always think you're Government is one day going to attack you so thats why you attacked the Government.....it's all so simple to see when you aren't personally involved in one side or the other, the Government acts like the people they come from.........

  • Mah' John always knows how to put a smile on my face as he shares annoying, sad, and frustrating information with me. Bless him and his three bandaids.

  • the way he starts is segments with "moving on" cause he knows we out here binge watching the crap out of this hahah

  • America you are a mess. Jesus!

  • Accidental socialism by Christian conservative capitalists 😂😂

  • Why not cut military spending by 2% and give every person in the US top grade free medical care though? 'Why should I pay taxes for someone else's surgery?' - Because you live in a national community and that person probably teaches your kids, delivers your Amazon packages, or lives next to you.

  • You're losing it Oliver, episode after episode this season with mindnumbing boring topics one after another....

    • watchgirls18. com I had brain surgery for sub arachnoid hemorrhage 9 months ago, I spent 10 days in the hospital 4 of which in the ICU, and after getting released I've had all the cognitive function tests and epilepsy tests and 3 follow up CT scans. Now I'm in the clear and fully healed with no brain damage, and all in all the cost to me was the equivalent of around 400 dollars, including meds and everything, and I only had to pay half of that. Man I'm glad I was born in Finland.

  • Anyone want to start an HCSM based on witchery, satanism, Buddhism, and other heavy, earth laden logical paths?

  • Just another way for Religion Inc. to exploit the gullible and uneducated.

  • I‘ve been out of my mind when i smelled mawanda‘s appearance 🤣 …then i realized, she grew a ladybeard over covid…

  • I encountered Liberty while working at a neurological clinic. The patient’s medication was about $1000 per month and they only reimburse up to $500 per year. So trash!

  • "...that judgmental tone is very much in line with how these ministries operate." You know, for a religion that literally says "judge not" as part of its scriptures, modern American Christianity produces the most judgmental people I've ever known.

  • American taxes pay for so many essential public services. Yet they're afraid of socialism? Right to protection? Police/Military is funded Right to Justice? Funded Public lawyers are compulsory Right to education? Public schools are funded Right to healthcare? 101 error

  • I disagree with almost every one of your opinions on how to fix these issues. But my god, your writers/you can craft and deliver a joke. Thanks from NZ.

  • Why do you block your videos in Australia?! It just forces us to watch shoddy uploads from someone else 😱

  • Stupid people are parted from their money very easy

  • Ruined at 19:34 this lady is not funny.

  • This why my grama did not want to leave france everything its free in hospital after having extra nationality always a good thing

  • Americans are willing to write off getting your surgeries paid off by others as an act of god before they're willing to accept universal healthcare.

  • Take me to church I'll worship like a John Star of Last Week Tonight Sharing corporate sins That have ruined your life Talking as a leftist yeah Good John, from Last Week Tonight!

  • They don’t cover pre existing conditions.... Yeah, and? That translates into up front lower risk and costs. It’s a system for healthy like minded people, incentivized to keep the costs low over time. Can’t speak for all these companies but my father has Liberty. They’ve paid %100 of his claims and in no later in 180 days. No co pay, no referral, no network. Some were pre approved but most claims were after services were performed. Also Liberty uses a simple model and is very upfront on how much the Administration costs actually cost. At the end of the day the government establishment is simply not going to kick out insurance companies, lobbyists and bloated costs in the healthcare system. Too much money in it for them. People are having to circumvent the best they can.

  • SO glad that I live in Wales,

  • What doesnt make sense to me is that by creating such a huge hurtle to get a college education we will have a shortage of professionals. Most people in med school are already suicidal youd think itd be better to get as many students as possible. Not just the rich, it should be about if you have interest in learning not if you have money.

  • I’m also part of a healthcare sharing ministry where we pay for each other’s medical costs. It’s called universal public healthcare and I live in Australia. Try it, it’s pretty nice. It’s amazing how America basically said, “we could have efficient goods and services that are properly regulated that actually provide for society and make individuals and the country better but then what would all the poor grifters do, best design our economy for the grifters instead”

  • 21:47 - did John just HoverHand his own heart?

  • Creativity: American Protestants trying to avoid actually caring for the most vulnerable

  • This batshit Christian health plan is literally the definition of socialism. The socialism they're so terrified of.

  • American dont understand they live in a third world country

  • LMAO - That's what they get selecting a company that pays claims based off of moral values. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • My engagement ring is Ruby and Sapphire 😍🥰

  • "mega churches" of healthcare, why so surprised?

  • 8:14 Fun little fact for people who aren’t Bible readers: the reason why they’re specifically called the “Good Samaritan” is because the Samaritans were generally disliked by most people. So a few specific Samaritans made themselves distinct from other people of their nation by being surprisingly generous, hence them being called “The Good Samaritan” the implication that all other Samaritans are bad. So I found it very funny that they decided to just call themselves Samaritan, which literally just refers to a nation of people no one liked.

  • I think they're on to something. Go up to Republicans and tell them about 'FREEDOM CARE', it looks like universal healthcare, except it's for patriots. It would do well.

  • 14:51 the girls face just says “i’m worth it” lol

  • Religion trying to control your body and life? Noooooo! I never would've guessed! (Majority of sarcasm borrowed from Noah Lugeons.)

  • Well done Obama...exempting religious orgs from ACA rules has single handedly ensured millions of Christians will be perpetually and noisily antagonistic towards M4ALL as if its' Republican detractors needed any help already... Obama...the grift that keeps on giving...to the right...

  • I have never used medical insurance, 9 kids and a wife. We have done cost sharing for 50 years, USA and international. Works.

  • Throughly enjoying the episode, thinking how I enjoy John so much then he goes and tops it of with a return of the beloved Lady of Our perpetual ….. oh lpraise be to you and Wanda , John!
